- According to the Author's notes from Volume 5, Kensai and his son Kyosuke aren't blood related but he takes cares of him like a real son even though he gives strict training to him. There was supposed to be an arc about Kensai's relationship with Kyosuke including the disappearance of his real biological son but it never materialised due to the series cancellation.
