Kaito Sumeragi (皇 開斗,Sumeragi Kaito ) is a shikigami user who works for the Shikigami Association. He is also a childhood friend of Kyousuke Kagami.

- According to the Author's notes from Volume 5, Kaito was originally going to have a second shikigami called Amakakeru Akinokami, a White phoenix like shikigami that's been handed down to every member of the Sumeragi clan, similar to Black Sirius of the Inuboshi Clan, however due to the series cancellation it was never introduced.
